World Record Set at Stirling Bull Sales for 100,000 gns bull

A new breed and centre record has been set at Stirling bull sales today (24 October) for a Charolais bull sold at 100,000 gns.

Vexour Garth (lot 697), who was put forward by Jan Boomars of Heathdown, Woldingham, Kent, is a Dingle Hofmesiter son out of Vexour Della, a Maerdy Tally daughter. He has a TSI of +71 and a SRI of +74.

He sold to a staggering 100,00gns and is heading to the USA based Livestock Capital Company, who are reckoned to be keeping him in the UK yet exporting semen across the globe.

The sale smashes the previous record of 70,000gns which was achieved at the same sale last year for Tom and Sheena Gatherer’s Barnsford Ferny.

The second best price of the day before him came for one from Bruce Campbell’s Thrunton Galaxy (lot 688). He is a son of Balmyle Dickler out of Thrunton Aphrodite, a Mowbraypark Orlando daughter. The winning bidder was John Rix from Essex who bred this weeks champion.

He has a TSI of +61 and an SRI of +52 and sold to 12,000gns.
