PROCAM: Seed trade specialist bolsters ProCam’s strategic offering
Leading agronomy firm ProCam has bolstered its strategic offering to arable and livestock farmers with the appointment of David Ramdhian as the company's Head of Seed Development.
David, who has worked within the seed trade in various seed breeding, production, treatment and retail, marketing and sales development roles for more than 30 years (including with Dalgety, DLF, UPL and more recently RAGT) joins ProCam to develop the company's seed strategy, ensuring customer access to an industry leading range of crops and performance seeds.
In his new role, David will be responsible for overseeing the growth of ProCam's seed offer and to provide complementary support and advice to the company's core crop protection and agronomy services.
"In a world where crop protection active ingredients are under regulatory pressure and challenges such as climate change and the push for greener, more environmentally friendly food production increase, my main priorities will be to work with ProCam's agronomists to enhance the service we offer to farmers. Seed variety selection and rotational choices will become increasingly important to successful and profitable crop production, and I'm keen to ensure we are able to provide the very best cropping advice and complementary agronomy solutions to enable farms to thrive and remain viable," David explains.
"ProCam's agronomy service is second to none in the UK, as is its ability to source and supply the very best arable and forage seeds: from cereals and oilseed rape, to maize, root crops, vegetables, grass and clover mixtures and energy crops," David continues. "I'll be working closely with ProCam's crop production specialists and drawing on my many years of experience and contacts within the seed sector from a sales and supply perspective to enhance ProCam's seed portfolio so that it continues to meet and exceed the challenges faced by growers, such as drought, flooding, soil health and nutrition.
"It's an exciting and challenging time to be involved in agriculture and food production, and I look forward to making a positive impact to the success of ProCam and its farmer customers."
Commenting on David's appointment, Alex Collingwood, ProCam UK's Managing Director said: "It gives me great pleasure to welcome David to the ProCam team. His extensive experience in the UK and European seed trade is a huge asset to ProCam and I'm confident he will make a significant contribution towards bolstering our position as a trusted and valued seed supplier in both the arable and livestock sectors."
