The NAAC are confident these new averaged prices are a reasonable guide for both contractors and farmers. However, it must be remembered they are only a guide.

These figures are produced on an annual basis and are compiled by collating an average figure for each operation from NAAC members the length and breadth of the UK. This means the actual price may vary considerably between regions, across soil types, distance travelled, size of contract undertaken, size and type of equipment used as well as the amount of product applied etc.
Duncan Russell, NAAC Chief Executive Officer said, ‘We are pleased to publish the latest contractors charges guide for 2018/2019. This guide is always a popular publication, and while the NAAC always advocates working out individual charges based on the cost of the operation, this guide is helpful to both contractors and farmers in highlighting a national average’.
PRICES ARE BASED ON RED DIESEL AT 50ppl.
The economical choice
Agricultural contractors offer a wide range of services to their customers and can often be the best economical choice for a farming business.
Duncan added, ‘Professional contractors strive to offer the best service to their customers, and while on occasion the professional contractor may not always be the cheapest, an amateur may end up costing your business more in the long run. Professional contractors will provide their customers with a prompt and efficient service, with the latest equipment and properly trained operators. They will hold the correct insurance and health and safety to protect you and your business. The price of this should not be underestimated’.
All NAAC members sign up to abide by the associations Code of Conduct and are required to be fully insured with public and employees liability. All members can be found on the ‘find a contractor’ section of the NAAC website.
The NAAC would like to thank all members who assisted in the compilation of this year’s guide.
