Love British Food brings public sector caterers to the heart of British farming

Love British Food is bringing together public sector caterers, foodservice leaders, farmers and industry partners at this year’s Royal Three Counties Show as part of its 25th anniversary celebrations.

The special event, taking place on Friday 12 June 2026, will immerse delegates in the heart of British farming and food. A full-day programme has been specially coordinated to strengthen the links between the people producing our food and those shaping menus across schools, hospitals, universities and hospitality.

At the centre of the day is a major panel discussion in the Future of Farming Theatre at 11.30am titled, From farm to menu: Who shapes Britain’s sustainable food future? Bringing together leaders from farming, procurement, hospitality and catering, the panel will explore how farmers can help caterers deliver on sustainability, quality and resilience by making British produce their first choice.

Confirmed panellists include Myton Food Group livestock technical manager, Lily Spencer-Brown; Fresh Direct head of food development, Ian Nottage; Angel Hill Food Co operations manager, Rob Cass; UK Hospitality Executive Director Wales, David Chapman; National Beef Association CEO, Neil Shand; Robyn Munt; NFU vice-president; and Love British Food founder, Alexia Robinson.

Delegates attending the event will also take part in a curated programme including attending the CLA breakfast, informal networking opportunities and an exclusive livestock lines tour with Countryfile presenter Adam Henson.

Love British Food founder Alexia Robinson said: “Over 25 years Love British Food has built a loyal community that connects farmers, caterers, suppliers and communities through one shared love of British food.

“This event is about bringing the people who develop menus and make buying decisions to experience the best of British farming at one of the country’s leading agricultural shows. We want caterers to see first-hand the quality, care and commitment behind British food production and leave empowered to choose British.

“The meals that matter most, often happen in the day-to-day communal places we share, from schools to care homes, which is why we have worked so closely with the public sector for 25 years. By strengthening relationships between grassroots and industry, we can help build demand for British food while making it easier for people to source, serve and celebrate British produce.”

Ian Nottage, head of food development at Fresh Direct, said: “When chefs, buyers and caterers can connect directly with the people producing our food, it creates a much deeper understanding of provenance, seasonality and sustainability.

“Events like this are incredibly valuable because they bring the whole supply chain together and show how collaboration can help strengthen British sourcing at scale.”

Lily Spencer-Brown, Livestock Technical Development Manager at Myton Food Group, said: “Strong relationships across the supply chain are vital to the future of British food production.

“Events like this give everyone the opportunity to connect directly with farmers and better understand their motivation. By bringing people together, Love British Food is helping strengthen confidence in British sourcing and supporting a more resilient food future.”

Rob Cass, operations manager at Angel Hill Food Co, said: “Public sector caterers serve millions of meals every week, so sourcing decisions have a real impact across the supply chain.

“Having the opportunity to spend time with farmers and producers at events like the Three Counties Show helps create stronger relationships and a greater understanding about the importance of supporting British food production.”

The Royal Three Counties Show activity forms part of Love British Food’s wider 25th anniversary campaign. Throughout 2026, Love British Food is bringing together farmers, retailers, caterers, schools, hospitality businesses and communities to champion British food, strengthen domestic supply chains and encourage organisations and consumers alike to ‘Choose British’.

All activity builds towards this year’s British Food Fortnight, which runs from 26 September to 11 October 2026.
