Hartpury University and College launches online portal to boost digital skills in farming

Hartpury Agriculture is thrilled to announce the official launch of its brand-new online portal.  This digital resource and offering marks a significant step in the ongoing commitment of Hartpury University and Hartpury College to supporting businesses and professionals in the agricultural sector in an increasingly digital world.

A key feature of the portal is Hartpury’s Digital Skills Hub, funded by the local skills improvement fund (LSIF) to support agri-business, careers and learning. This innovative platform serves as a 'one stop shop' for support and resources, seamlessly connecting users with the Hartpury Agri-Tech Centre, career advisors, and a learning section to be used by Hartpury College’s agriculture education team.

This initiative underscores the institution's commitment to advancing agricultural education and supporting the next generation of agri-professionals.

For farmers, growers and established agribusiness professionals, the portal will also be used by the Hartpury Agri-Tech Centre to serve as an industry-first platform, dedicated to providing instant access to online learning materials including webinars, toolkits, presentations, guides, and videos. This bitesize material focuses on how digital solutions and data can support and drive forward business planning, diversification, marketing and decision making.

Access to the online portal is free to registered members of Hartpury’s Tech Box Park. Offering entrepreneurs and representatives of supplier businesses with flexible access to forums and links to the latest updates from the agri-food industry. It will also open doors to funding opportunities and potential collaborations. Plus, through a bespoke dashboard, members will be able to schedule meetings with Hartpury academics and experts for consultations, workshops, and expertise sharing.

Ben Thompson, Head of Projects, and Business Engagement at Hartpury said:  "We are thrilled to unveil our latest milestone – offering an online format to our services. The portal marks a significant stride forward in Hartpury’s plans, offering flexibility to all our members and wider stakeholders to engage with, and benefit from, our work - no matter their location.”
