The introduction of farmer and exhibitor advisory boards for 2018 has seen the layout, event features and content change to reflex changes in the industry including new seminar and debate formats, a cover crop drilling demonstration, innovation entrances and more.
Andrew Robinson a member of the board said:“We were all well aware of the need for things to change at the Cereals Event and so I am very pleased to say that things are changing for Cereals 2018, and will continue to change and develop on the back of both the Farmer and Exhibitor Advisory Boards.

- Working demonstrations
New for 2018, Cereals 2018 will feature a cover crop drilling demonstration area. Exhibitors including Claydon Drills, Cousins of Emneth, Dale Drills, Ryetech Industrial Equipment and Sim-Tec Aitchison will demonstrate different direct drilling equipment on an 8ha area sown with a mix of cover crops provided by Kings.
Cereals will also play host to the only live demonstration in the country of Harper Adams’ Hands Free Hectare outside the university.
There will also be returning favourites the Syngenta Sprays and Sprayers Arena featuring dozens of sprays and sprayer demonstrations across both days,and Working Demonstration Plots putting the latest cultivating equipment through its paces.
Cereals Conversation and Cereals Controversial
New seminar and debate formats for 2018 hosted in two separate marquees in partnership with Content Partner AHDB. Cereals Controversial – See some of the hottest topics in the arable industry discussed by industry-leading farmers, scientists, policymakers, and environmentalists.
Cereals Conversations – A hub for knowledge exchange, taking a more technical approach to issues currently affecting the industry, providing cutting-edge research and advice for farmers.
3. Innovation Insights
Located in the Agronomy Zone, more than 25 Agri-Tech East member organisations including established companies, small organisations, researchers and start-ups, will explain their novel agri-tech ideas in lightening presentations, between 15:00 and 17:00 on Day 1, in the Innovation Insights marquee.
4. Guided tours
This year expert guides will take groups of visitors on curated tours of exhibitors and event features relating to specific themes, covering everything from Recommended List varieties to soil management, and innovation in action.
BASIS and NRoSO CPD points are also available from a range of exhibitors across the site.

Aside from the vast array of innovations and knowledge available at Cereals, it is also the perfect networking opportunity.
