Fertiliser Market Report: April prices lower but timing tight
Calum Findlay, Gleadell’s fertiliser manager, comments on the fertiliser markets
Granular urea
Globally the premium for March urea continues as US demand remains high.
April prices look to be weaker. However, this will be too late for many growers who will need to allow time for product to be shipped and dispatched to farm.
Ammonium nitrate
Imported AN continues to trade lower as importers try to move stock in a very competitive market.
Currently, importers are unable to buy new vessels at levels which would allow them to compete with UK prices.
CF Fertilisers has stocks available so remains well placed to service UK farmers as we enter the busy spring period.
NPK
Blenders continue to compete for business, putting NPK/PKs onto farm at below replacement cost.
Many are now at full production capacity to fulfil orders already in the book for March. We strongly recommend growers requiring delivery to book today.
