The event, organised by the East of England Agricultural Society, is at the East of England Showground in Peterborough on 3 November 2016.
 
This year’s conference discusses the opportunities and challenges within farming following Brexit, and a strong focus on innovation and new technology within the agricultural sector.
 
The keynote first session, chaired by Richard Whitlock comprises an outstanding line-up of: CLA Deputy President and Cambridgeshire farmer, Tim Breitmeyer; Tenant Farmers Association Chief Executive, George Dunn; Ed Ford, Vice President of the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs and Dr Doug Parr, Chief Scientist and Policy Director at Greenpeace.
 
The second session will focus on ‘innovation & technology’ and will be chaired by Dr Tina Barsby, CEO, NIAB.The impressive line-up of speakers includes Gareth Davies, CEO & Co-Founder of YAGRO Ltd; Matt McLaren, Co-Founder, Entomics; Sachin Shende, Co-Founder & CEO, KisanHub, and Clarke Willis MBE, Group CEO, Anglia Farmers. Clarke will deliver a visionary talk on how farming practices are changing with a look at what farming could be like in the next 25-50 years.
 
The conference’s third session features the next generation of farmers with video profiles and discussion with Ian Collison of J.A Collison & Sons, one the UK’s leading season cut flower growers and packers. Ian will be joined by Lynsey Martin, a Harper Adams graduate and self-employed livestock worked who specialises in pedigree cattle and sheep. Completing the next generation line-up is Claire Hill from Luscious Lamb. Claire will be focusing on the use of technology in managing her sheep and will outline the innovative steps she is taking to market her business.
