Defra announces ministers' remits
Defra has announced its new ministers’ different remits in the wake of the reshuffle by Prime Minister Theresa May, which saw Andrea Leadsom appointed Secretary of State for the department.
Newly appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State Thérèse Coffey, MP for Suffolk Coastal, will take responsibility for waste, air quality, flooding and biodiversity, while Lord Gardiner of Kimble will have responsibility for climate change adaptation.
George Eustice, who survived the reshuffle, will carry on as farming minister.
