Bursary gives farmers chance to learn about latest agri-tech developments
Anglia Farmers (AF), is supporting bursaries which will help farmers and growers attend this year’s Agri-tech East REAP conference – Innovation for an Agricultural Revolution.
The conference, which takes places on Wednesday 9 November at the Wellcome Genome Campus Conference Centre in Cambridge, will look at how technology drawn from other sectors and radical new thinking has the power to create transformational change for agriculture.
The bursaries will allow farmers to attend the conference for just £50 – instead of the full rate of £200. Anyone in the UK who is a grower or farmer, of who is in full-time education in agriculture is eligible to apply.
Clarke Willis, AF chief executive, said: “We are pleased to be able to provide bursaries to enable growers and farmers to attend the conference and hear about the latest developments in agri-tech.
“Highlighting technological advancements and generating new opportunities for farmers sits naturally alongside our drive to provide excellent value for money for our members and to continually deliver excellence in agricultural purchasing. As farming businesses adopt more and more technology, we are pleased to work closely with Agri-Tech East to help them build a hub of global innovation here in the east of England.”
He continued: "We're delighted to be able to support this bursary to encourage farmers and growers to attend the REAP conference. Technology is such a key part of our industry and will play an increasingly important role in farming businesses in the future, so it's crucial that we share knowledge and ideas to keep up to date with the latest developments, and conferences like REAP are an ideal way to do this."
Belinda Clarke, director of Agri-tech East, said: “We are delighted Anglia Farmers are making it possible for any farmer, or full time agriculture student, to attend the REAP conference. Farmers are the end-users of almost all of the new innovations that are developed within our ecosystem, so it’s really important that they are part of the discussions at REAP.”
