World's slowest police chase?
Gloucestershire Constabulary has released bizarre footage of a low-speed vehicle chase which took place earlier this month, ending not far outside Cheltenham.
In the video, taken from a police car's dashboard camera, officers pursue suspects in a stolen tractor – apparently at an average speed of around 10mph – before an officer attempts to apprehend one of the vehicle's occupants. The tractor then drives off, knocking over a lamp post.
Over the course of the chase, police deployed a stinger to puncture the vehicle's tyres, but the driver ploughed on regardless, driving on rims alone.
Gloucestershire police said officers made three arrests (of two teenagers and a 29 year old man) after the 20-mile chase ended when the tractor crashed into a signpost.
The tractor had been stolen from a farm in Evesham. Footage of the chase was released by the Constabulary on Friday.
