Wheat reaches new highs for the year

Wheat prices on the London futures market rose to their highest level in over six months closing at £177 for May. New crop prices also rallied ending at £163.5 for November, a rise in over £5 per tonne over the day.

Concerns that crop damage from frost in February is higher than originally thought in Germany, eastern France, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic, and a surge on U.S. grain and oilseed markets helped raise prices.
