Pheromone traps in Essex and Yorkshire recorded above threshold numbers on Tuesday 8 June. Numbers were consistently higher in traps around Nuthamstead through to Saffron Walden before the weekend,  however, in the last few days adult midges at Thaxted and Dunmow have increased above the threshold.

Numbers caught in pheromone traps have been very variable across the region ranging from hardly any to 300+ in a couple of nights.
