Virgin Money: Future-Proofing Beef Farming Businesses

RNAS BeefTech 25 Seminar Programme to Showcase Cutting Edge of Beef Industry Best Practice

Organised by the Royal Northern Agricultural Society (RNAS), in Aberdeenshire this Spring the RNAS BeefTech 25 Seminar Programme will feature leading experts outlining the many opportunities in the industry, from the latest technology in testing and genetics to banking and investment to new markets.

Virgin Money is proudly supporting this flagship specialist beef event, hosted by the Gall family at their suckler beef and lamb finishing operation near Peterhead on May 28th. As part of the event, Virgin Money will host a series of seminars, including a panel discussion led by Brian Richardson, Head of Agriculture. He will be joined by experts and pioneering farmers to explore strategies for future-proofing farming businesses through professionalism, marketing, and sustainability.

The first seminar of the day, 'Beef Breakfast', will be a look at the opportunities in the industry with speakers from across all sectors discussing market opportunities, labour and mentorship opportunities, testing/genomic opportunities, and banking opportunities.

The second seminar is 'Future Proofing for Farming Business', with experts discussing the current beef market and looking at the importance of sustainability.

Everyone has their own opinions and in the final seminar of the day, well-known farmers from the North of England and Scotland will put forward their own 'Matter of Opinion' and give their views on the future of beef farming.

Virgin Money has always been deeply committed to supporting the farming industry in all its forms, and Brian Richardson, is delighted to be able to support an event with the potential to inspire farmers and consumers alike.

"Agriculture as a whole has been extremely challenged over the past few years, but events like this hosted by dedicated farming families like the Galls show the way forward for farming. BeefTech25 will demonstrate the extraordinary resilience and resourcefulness of farmers who are finding new and better ways to make their farming businesses sustainable at every level. It's a privilege to support the Scottish beef industry at this event and I'm looking forward to seeing a large crowd at Home Farm on the day."

The day's packed programme will follow the long RNAS tradition of spectacular events with a line-up of farming focused demonstrations, expert seminars, and trade and technology exhibitions.

RNAS event Convenors, Brian Ross and Scott Mathers said, "We're extremely grateful to the Gall family for agreeing to host our BeefTech 25 event. With beef prices on the up we hope to showcase a well-run beef breeding/finishing family farm. Thanks to Virgin Money for putting this sponsorship behind the seminars. I'm sure all sponsors, exhibitors, seminar speakers and visitors will help us deliver an important opportunity for learning, discussion, promotion and inspiration for the future of our beef industry."
