UPL blackgrass competition has four tickets for the Nations Championship rugby final up for grabs
Farmers and agronomists sharing pictures of their crops and farms with the hashtag #blackgrassgame on LinkedIn, Instagram or Facebook are in line to automatically win a branded rugby ball. They will also be entered into a prize draw to win four tickets to see the Nations Championship final at Twickenham this November, hopefully featuring one of the Home Nations.
There are four rugby balls to collect, with farmers eligible for up to four entries to collect the set. They are branded according to products in UPL’s blackgrass herbicide portfolio, notably for this autumn: its leading OSR graminicide, Centurion Max (clethodim), and the new pre-emergence cereal herbicide, Xerton (ethofumesate).
“We wanted to do something for farmers this summer, whilst also celebrating the fact that UPL has a broad range of products across different crops that control blackgrass,” says James Kennedy, business development manager for UPL. “We are coming to the end of another challenging but hopefully successful year with harvest approaching, so why not do something that’s a bit of fun?”
James also hints at an exciting new blackgrass herbicide that UPL is developing, which he says offers excellent performance compared to anything currently available to farmers. “It’s still a few years away, but it’s hard not to get excited about its arrival when you see the black grass control in trials,” he adds.
Farmers wishing to enter will need to post a crop-related photo from their farm, such as combining, drilling, spraying, or a harvested or standing crop, and tag the UPL UK Instagram, Facebook, or LinkedIn account. They should include one of the following product hashtags: #Xerton, #Quidam, #SempraXL, or #CenturionMax and use the hashtag #blackgrassgame. For full terms and conditions, they should visit the UPL UK website
