Thieves make off with bull semen worth £50,000

Police in Minnesota are investigating the theft of bull semen worth $70,000 (£50,000), which was reported stolen from a farm in Mower County on Tuesday (7th April).

Vials containing semen - each worth between $300 and 1,500 (£200-1,000) - were taken from an unlocked outbuilding on the farm in Southern Minnesota sometime between 1 and 7 April, though the farmer who reported the vials stolen said the building where they were stored had only been left unattended on Easter Sunday.

Mower County police said the thief or thieves would have been aware of the value of the item, as nothing else was taken from the farm. However, there have been no arrests made in connection with the case and, as yet, police have no suspects.
