The Institution of Agricultural Engineers launches new web site

The Institution of Agricultural Engineers is delighted to announce the launch of its redesigned web site.

The site has a new ‘Technical Specialists ‘area designed to serve as a resource centre for journalists looking for information on a variety of topics related to landbased engineering. Leading experts will be available to provide comment, answer questions or give interviews on the following topics:

• Power and Machinery (including Agricultural vehicles on the road)
• Education and training
• Energy and landbased systems
• Health & safety
• Pesticide application
• Post Harvest
• Precision Farming
• Protection of Natural Resources
• Soils and Water
• Sports turf

For example Simon Blackmore, a key figure in the development of farming and agricultural robots, will advise on Precision Farming. Simon owns a company called Unibots Ltd and is Head of Engineering at Harper Adams University College.

One of the Soils and Water experts is Professor Richard Godwin. Richard holds Emeritus, Honorary and Visiting Professorships in agricultural engineering from Cranfield University, Czech University of Life Sciences and Harper Adams University College.

The site is also full of information for young people interested in finding out careers information and also why there has never been a better time to consider working in the landbased engineering sector.
