- Making small farms more visible – the ‘Matter of Scale’ survey will provide a clear picture of the range of small scale farms in operation and those who are running them for the first time, but only if people take part!
- Improving legal standing of smaller farms - A source of academically robust data on the productivity and other advantages of small farms could be quoted in planning applications, agricultural appraisals and appeals.
- Evaluating the recent performance of your own farm and appraising the barriers that are limiting the potential of smaller farms in the UK
- The chance to win a short break worth £250 with Organic Farm Holidays or one of five Opinel pocket knives. The first 30 questionnaires returned will also get an Opinel No.7 pocket knife.
LWA has produced a short video outlining the benefits of taking the survey, and reasons for getting involved, here.
