SoilQuest launches new precision agronomy offer - CropTec

Yield increases, improved grain quality, less lodging and better grassweed control are among significant benefits that Agrii’s clients can expect to enjoy as a result of a new three-tier offering from SoilQuest, according to Stuart Alexander, the company’s Precision Agronomy Manager.

“The new menu of services we are launching at this year’s CropTec Event, will provide more options for growers who want to realise the benefits of precision farming on their farm, whatever their size and budget” claims Stuart.

Three packages are on offer, ‘Whole Field’, ‘Soil Reflection’ and ‘Soil Scan’.

Whole Field is our entry level service, which provides sampling, analysis and nutrient recommendations on a field-by-field basis. The data provides farmers with the basic tools to improve yield by nutrient management,” explains Stuart.

Soil Reflection uses additional data from satellite technology to help better understand soil variance. The upgraded service provides soil survey maps and management zones to make efficient use of inputs and allows for variable seed rates to ensure optimum plant count across whole fields.

Soil Scan delivers detailed soil survey maps using field scanning technology, providing dual layer data to help achieve the best yields. The package delivers detailed nutrient maps, and laser texture analysis for each zone which can help optimise inputs and increase yield. This Option has the most intense sampling,” concludes Stuart.

SoilQuest already works with a significant number of farms throughout the UK and the new service offering will allow farms of all types to adopt precision agronomy techniques.
