Sharing solutions for a changing industry: Frontier’s 2025 summer open days

This summer, Frontier Agriculture will host 18 summer open days across 17 nationwide trial sites, focused on sharing solutions to support an evolving agricultural industry.

Visitors to the events will have the opportunity to see Frontier’s research and innovation in action, with experts from across the business leading tours and sharing results, insights and recommendations across:

* variety selection
* soil health
* nutrition
* crop protection
* data capture and interpretation
* environmental land management
* cultivations and rotations.

The events are also a chance to learn more about how Frontier is guiding growers through both public and private funding. With Government schemes continuing to evolve, and an increasing number of private sector initiatives supporting the uptake of sustainable practices becoming available, it is key to look at all the options which can add value and reduce business risk.

“Our open days are a valuable forum for advisors, growers and industry partners to come together and review the learnings from previous seasons in scenarios representative of those across different regions on farm.

“It’s a great opportunity to collaborate and explore the latest innovations, including how they can support growers to build greater resilience into their farm businesses and how different solutions are helping to advance our wider industry,” explains Frontier knowledge exchange manager, Michelle Nuttall.

The most expansive network of trial sites in the UK, Frontier’s replicated trials cover over 13,000 plots spanning more than 30 hectares, with around £1 million invested annually into ongoing research.
"Our purpose is to create a better future for agriculture... our open days are where we show this in practice."
This year also marks the introduction of some brand-new sites in Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Lincolnshire, so growers can see how different varieties, treatments and land management practices perform in local conditions.

Embarking on a new Frontier

This year, Frontier’s summer open days also mark an important milestone for the business. 2025 sees the business celebrate its 20 th  year in operation supporting UK agriculture, having recently undergone abrand refresh and the launch of a new, customer-centric strategy that makes it easier for growers to access the expertise, services and products they need.

Historically, the open days have been an important opportunity for growers to meet advisors from Frontier’s various teams and specialist business divisions. While this still remains core to the events, how it’s presented will look quite different.  Michelle continues: “The expertise and services our customers and the wider industry have come to know and expect from us remain absolutely key – the difference now is that we’re able to present it in a more holistic way.

“Everything we do is underpinned by our research, and our purpose is to create a better future for agriculture. Our open days are where we show this in practice, and we’re really looking forward to doing that as one Frontier.”
