SEIB Insurance Brokers Ltd launch new budget-friendly Core Horse Insurance in response to the ongoing cost-of-living crisis
SEIB is proud to announce the launch of Core Horse Insurance - a new, affordable horse insurance policy for those with more limited insurance budgets. Developed by their team of horse owners and insurance specialists, Core Horse Insurance provides an alternative level of cover for those who are considering insuring their horse for the first time, self-insuring or reducing their level of cover, to save money.
The cost-of-living crisis continues to bite, particularly for the equestrian community, who already have ever-increasingly expensive responsibilities on their hands - their horses. The SEIB team is made up of equestrians who understand first-hand the financial pressures horse owners are under, and the sacrifices that are currently being made to keep horses happy and healthy. This is why SEIB has taken action to tackle the issue head-on by creating Core Horse Insurance, which reduces premium prices by providing Vet Fees cover for accidental external injuries only, as well providing a range of other key covers.
SEIB's Equestrian Business Manager, Stephanie Ellis explained: "I've been at SEIB for 16 years, and the financial cost of owning horses has never been as high as it is now. We're speaking to our customers every day, and it's becoming increasingly apparent that they are looking to make savings wherever they can. To combat this, we knew we needed to offer a ‘half-way house' insurance for those who need to significantly reduce their outgoings, which is where Core Horse Insurance comes in. This product is perfect for owners who want affordable horse insurance."
The policy will cover veterinary fees for accidental external injuries up to £3,000 per cl
aim, with an affordable excess of just £165 per claim. It could be perceived that wounds are one of the more straightforward situations to deal with when calling the vet as there is often less diagnosis needed. However, just because there is a visible cause, it does not mean they're always the cheapest to treat. Research carried out by SEIB shows that accidental external injuries are the second biggest cause of horse insurance claims, with the average cost of claims coming in at over £1,300 per incident.
Core Horse Insurance has other benefits too that are not typically seen on entry-level horse insurance policies, such as an optional emergency colic surgery add-on up to £5,000 per incident and tack cover up to £5,000 per claim, and an increase to the horse sum insured up to and including £10,000. This policy is available to purchase online now at seib.co.uk/horse-insurance.
SEIB will continue to provide their popular existing horse insurance product, now known as Classic Horse Insurance. This policy provides protection for a wide range of activities, illnesses and injuries, loss of use and emergency colic surgery up to £7,500 per incident.
