Renewables' is a vibrant and growing area of the Cereals Event

Renewables' is a vibrant and growing area of the Cereals Event focused on renewable energy generation and supply opportunities for UK farms. Sponsored by Drax Power and supported by the National Non-Food Crops Centre (NNFCC), Renewables features a host of highly innovative companies including wind turbine manufacturers, power plant and biomass experts.

Getting involved
The focus of the NNFCC exhibition at Cereals is on integration of markets; helping farmers to understand current demand for biomass and how to get involved in the supply chain. The NNFCC will be launching a new web resource for farmers called PowerPlants 2020 which will be a central resource for farmers wanting to get involved in the bio-energy sector either through anaerobic digestion, energy crops or biomass combustion.

Biomass and selling energy to customers
Drax Power, the owner-operator of the 'cleanest coal-fired power plant in Britain'; is just one of several companies keen to engage with arable farmers at the event to develop a stronger biomass supply chain in the UK.

On the Agrovista stand, SmartestEnergy, the UK's leading purchaser of energy generated by the independent sector will be providing a "one-stop-shop" for farmers and landowners wanting to find out more about diversifying into renewable energy production.

On farm solutions
Exhibitors are also on hand to help you assess whether readily available resources, such as wind, wood or straw, could be put to good use to fuel farm dwellings, crop driers, glasshouses, workshops and livestock buildings.
