From1st January suppliers of dairy ingredients processor Meadow Foods will be paid 0.5ppl more for their milk. The Chester based firm announced today that it will increase the flat rate price paid to producers, bringing its standard litre price to 28.88ppl.

Meadow Foods’ executive chairman Simon Chantler claimed that, with the new addition, the company has increased its prices by a total of 4.87ppl since the start of the year.

The UK is still seventh from bottom in the EU milk price league table, with British producers receiving around 4ppl below the average price for their milk.
