Three members of the Pasture-Fed Livestock Association who are National Trust tenants, received prizes at the recent ‘Fine Farm Produce Awards’ organised by the National Trust and held in Bristol.

The Awards celebrate the very best local produce from farms and estates across the country. Twenty-five winners were recognised for 45 outstanding food, drink and countryside products, ranging from beef to honey and beer to mushrooms.

Neil and Leigh Heseltine won the award for Best Belted Galloway Beef for their pasture-fed beef produced at Hill Top Farm in the Yorkshire Dales.

Neil said: “Winning this award gives us an affirmation that we’re doing something right, and gives us the confidence to continue our approach to farming, striving to create the right balance between benefitting the environment and food production.”You can buy some of their beef from ‘For Heaven’s Stake’ 

Luke Hasell from the Chew Valley in Somerset entered his pasture-fed beef for the first time this year and won the organic beef category.He produces the beef from his herd of Red Devons and sells it through the Story Group, a growing organic farming collective supplying customers in Bristol and beyond.Find out more about Luke’s business at www.storyorganic.co.uk

Also, James and Victoria Hawkins from Warren Farm in Herefordshire received an award for their cold pressed rapeseed oil, which they produce on their farm in fields rotated with pasture. Check out the website: www.warrenfarms.co.uk
