Johann Tasker is attending Defra briefing after the spending review - key points at the moment are:
During this spending review period, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs will reduce spending on resources by around 29% and capital spending around 34%. The Administration budget seems likely to be reduced by 33%.
Defra cuts to be around £240m in first year. This is based on 8% of a £3bn budget. 
The Rural Development Programme for England expenditure is to be cut by £66m
The Science Budget will remain constant in cash terms over the next four years.The Animal Health Institute in Pirbright, Surrey is to get a share of £220m funding, split into three with other projects.
Superfast broadband projects to be piloted in Highlands & Islands, North Yorkshire, Cumbria, Herefordshire.
