Oilseed rape yields so far
Results from 9000 hectares give an average yield for winter oilseed rape at 3.6 t/ha, just under a ton and a half an acre in old money. Dropped off the cliff from last year's average of 4.5t/ha.
The yield spread is 4.2 to 3.4 which may look quite a difference but statistically there is probably nothing in it. This would support the comments coming in from growers that there seemed to be little difference in variety yield this year.
The results show conventional varieties doing just as well as hybrids this year. Shorter varieties are doing better than taller ones, unsurprisingly given the season.

If you are growing any of the varieties listed below and have harvested them but not submitted the yield to Farming Online'sHarvest Results please do. We only publish a variety yield once we have enough independent results for it.

Winter wheat yields
Weather delays mean we're way behind on last years wheat harvest. However, seven varieties submitted so far show yields ranging from 5 - 10 t/ha a disappointing but understandable drop on last year.
More results are coming in every day but for many the wheat harvest has barely started. Comments so far indicate that expectations are low with many expecting yields of around 2t/ac.
