NSA: Farmers and landowners benefit from NSA Graziers List service
The National Sheep Association (NSA) is reminding farmers and landowners of the wide-ranging benefits available through its Graziers List service, a platform to connect livestock keepers with those offering grazing opportunities.
The NSA Graziers List serves as a practical and efficient solution for both farmers seeking additional grazing land and landowners looking to make productive use of their land. By facilitating direct connections, the service helps maximise land use while supporting livestock management across diverse farming systems.
Open to sheep farmers and landowners, the NSA Graziers List is specifically designed for those managing sheep, offering flexibility in grazing arrangements. Whether for short-term grazing needs or longer-term agreements, the platform enables users to find suitable matches based on location, land type and specific requirements.
NSA is looking forward to attending Cereals Event this June to promote the benefits of including sheep in arable rotations and will be sharing further information on how the NSA Graziers List can help to connect landowners with sheep farmers.
NSA Project Manager Nicola Noble says: “NSA is delighted to be able to offer this service for sheep and arable farmers as well as other landowners. Previously agreements for grazing have been made possible thanks to existing relationships and networks, but with increasing integration of sheep into arable rotations there is a need for a more formal service that is able to connect farmers, allowing mutual benefit to be achieved.”
In addition to supporting agricultural productivity, the service also promotes environmental benefits for landowners. Grazing livestock can play a key role in land management, including maintaining habitats, controlling of vegetation and promoting biodiversity. The Graziers List therefore contributes to sustainable land use practices as well as farm business efficiency.
Sheep farming members of the NSA are able to advertise their grazing requirements for free on the list as a benefit of their membership subscription. Details on NSA membership can be found at www.nationalsheep.org.uk.
NSA encourages both existing NSA members and new users to take full advantage of the list, highlighting its role as a valuable tool in today’s farming landscape. With increasing pressures on land availability and the need for adaptable farming solutions, services like this are more relevant than ever.
Farmers and landowners interested in joining or learning more about the NSA Graziers List are encouraged to visit the NSA website or click here.
The NSA Graziers List is supported by leading crop science organisation, NIAB, and Liz Genever, Independent Beef and Sheep Consultant.
