Nostalgic New Look for Wensleydale Creamery
Wensleydale Creamery, producers of the famous Real Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese, has announced plans to roll out a new packaging design across its brand portfolio, in a bid to cement the company’s nostalgia and provenance during a key year for British firms.
Based at Hawes, in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, the Wensleydale Creamery has revitalised its product appearance to reflect its history within the British cheese industry. The new packaging will depict the iconic Dales scenery of Wensleydale, tying the brand to its long standing home. Products will also feature the Union Jack during the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and London 2012 this summer, in support of British made produce.
By undertaking this new brand positioning, the cheese producer will bring its core portfolio of cheese varieties, including its best selling Real Yorkshire Wensleydale & Cranberries, under the refreshed Wensleydale Creamery identity, strengthening its position as a leader in the crumbly and blended cheese sectors.
David Hartley, managing director of The Wensleydale Creamery, said: “We are proud of our heritage and company ethos, and want to ensure our products and packaging reflect this. By featuring the Wensleydale scenery, where our farmers produce the milk to make our famous cheese and indeed where our business is based, we can celebrate the company’s Yorkshire and British roots.”
