Nominations sought for prestigious potato industry award

Potato Council is seeking nominations for this year's British Potato Industry Award.  This prestigious honour is presented to an individual recognised for his or her outstanding contribution to the British potato industry.

Potato Council continues to back progressive moves by leaders in the fields of marketing, innovation and research and development who satisfy this demand.  By presenting this award it recognises the dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of those who have made outstanding contributions to the British potato industry.

Allan Stevenson, Potato Council chairman, comments: ”The British potato industry is made up of many wonderful people who have helped shape it to what it is today. We are asking for nominations of outstanding people for this award from all sectors within the industry.

“Please help us find a new, worthy winner for 2011 who is a leader today.”

Anyone wishing to nominate a person for the British Potato Industry Award should send a nomination form to the award committee secretary by July 31, 2011. The award committee, drawn from the different sectors of the industry, will select the winner.

The winner of the award will receive a silver rose bowl which will be presented at BP2011 at Harrogate.
