New Head of Operations Appointed at H&H Land & Estates

H&H Land & Estates is pleased to announce the appointment of Gemma Turner as Head of Operations, a newly created strategic role that will support the continued growth and operational integrity of the business.

Part of the H&H Group, H&H Land & Estates is a leading rural property and professional services business operating across the North of England, with its head office in Carlisle and offices in Durham, Northumberland, North Yorkshire, and the South Lakes. The company provides expert advice across land agency, estate management, rural and environmental consultancy, commercial development and property services.

Having built a successful career across retail, multi-site management and financial services, Gemma brings over 16 years' experience in people and operational management. Her background includes senior operational leadership roles, most recently as Head of Operations within a financial services firm, where she led teams, streamlined processes and supported business growth.

In her new role, Gemma will oversee day-to-day operations across H&H Land & Estates, focusing on operational efficiency, consistency of service and the development of high-performing teams. Her appointment marks a significant step in strengthening the operational foundations of the business as it continues to grow and evolve.

Commenting on her appointment, Gemma said, "I'm delighted to be joining H&H Land & Estates at such an exciting time. The business has a strong reputation and a clear set of values, and I'm passionate about creating supportive, well-structured operations that allow people to do their best work and deliver an excellent service to clients."

As the agricultural sector continues to face significant change, from evolving policy and environmental pressures to shifting land use, diversification and long-term succession planning, H&H Land & Estates is focused on ensuring it has the operational strength and resilience to support clients through these challenges. The creation of the Head of Operations role reflects the business's commitment to investing in its people, systems and service delivery at a time of increasing complexity across the rural economy

Mark Johnson, H&H Group Chief Operating Officer, added: "Gemma brings a wealth of experience in operational leadership and people management. Her appointment will play an important role in supporting our teams, enhancing consistency across the business and ensuring we are well positioned to meet the evolving needs of our customers."

Originally from Dursley in Gloucestershire, Gemma moved to Cumbria in 2018 with her husband. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, running, yoga and travelling, and is an avid reader of crime thrillers. Her favourite place in Cumbria is Buttermere, where she enjoys hiking Haystacks followed by a well-earned cup of tea and cake.
