Anaerobic Digesters take on a new lease of life as part of the agreements reached by the Conservative Liberal Democrat coalition negotiations.  Measures are to be put in place to promote a huge increase in energy from waste through anaerobic digestion.

Lord Redesdale, Chairman of the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association (ADBA), told Farming Online today that this shows that AD will be the renewable energy of choice for the new government. Policies will have to be directed at promoting on farm AD and making sure it is economically attractive for farmers considering diversifying. Energy Secretary Chris Huhne will be speaking at the ADBA Conference in July.

ADBA Conference 5 – 7 July at the NEC
.
The ADBA Conference, part sponsored by Farming Online, will be an excellent opportunity to see how AD could work for you. The conference will provided a platform to meet financiers and builders of AD as well as exploring the practical requirements of commissioning an AD plant on farm.

Two Day Conference
The two day conference lead by the Government Minister and leading industry experts will discuss progress in the industry and tackle the current issues affecting the development of this nascent industry, including funding, planning, co-digestion, digestate handling, permitting, district heating and grid connection. Following on from our National Conference in December, which highlighted both the benefits of AD and the current barriers to its development, this conference, through in-depth panel discussion, will analyse and debate how we can deliver our objectives for the industry on a much more practical level.
