Tiverton MP Neil Parish has been re-elected as chair of the EFRA Committee, which oversees the work of the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Parish won through against two other nominees in a secret ballot of MPs which took place on Wednesday.
 
Nominated against him were former Tory London mayoral candidate Zac Goldsmith and Bill Wiggin, MP for North Herefordshire and a former shadow environment minister under Michael Howard’s Conservatives, who gained 107 and 137 votes respectively, against Mr Parish’s 324

The rest of the committee’s membership has yet to be announced.
