Matt Kealey joins Oliver Seeds in the North East
Matt Kealey has been appointed North East Regional Business Manager for Oliver Seeds, the leading agricultural brand of global grass breeding company DLF.
Originally from a farming family based in East Yorkshire, Matt trained at Harper Adams University before taking on agronomist and crop protection roles within start-up and established companies, latterly with the AF Group based in Norfolk. He has also worked as an agricultural supply chain consultant and agri-tech investment specialist working with the Department for Business and Trade.
Returning to Yorkshire, Matt will be responsible for customers from East Yorkshire to the Scottish Borders, to the right of the A1 motorway.
Matt is keen to help UK farmers take a more regenerative approach, by growing crops and rotations and re-introducing livestock onto arable farms, to rebuild soil health.
“I will be encouraging my customers to take steps to future-proof their farming businesses and adopt any appropriate SFI schemes as soon as they can,” says Matt. “No-one knows how long these schemes will last or whether they will remain as generous as they are today.
“I am looking forward to taking on my role as an agronomist and trusted adviser, as well as a supplier of top-class grass and forage crop seeds.”
