Louth historic cattle market looks set to be refurbished
Louth's historic cattle market looks to have been saved from closure last night - after councillors recommended that the council withdraws from the sale of the livestock market site and develops a refurbishment scheme.
A public consultation earlier this month revealed that 84% of users want it to be saved from closure.
Councillors said they recognised that the livestock market held one morning each week is clearly not sustainable going forward and there is the need to find a way of ensuring the site is put to good use more often.”
The decision's expected to be rubber stamped at a meeting of the full council on the 11th October next month.
