From taking a ride on a 7ft swan pedalo to Morris dancing, local bands to live theatre - Llandovery Sheep Festival offers a fun packed agenda of performers and entertainment to suit all tastes.

The festival, which takes place on 14 & 15 September in Llandovery town centre, will include a village show that includes handmade crafts, homemade produce and even a wonky veg section! You can also take part in the fancy dress wheelbarrow race.

From 10am until 10pm there is a full programme of entertainment, all free of charge, in Llandovery's Market Square and in the main car park. All ages are invited to watch the performers and take part in some of the performances.

Tiago Gambogi and Maggi Swallow are the organisers of the performing arts programme for the festival, which includes the return of the Bagad Glaziked Pouldregad from Llandovery's French twin town, Pluguffan, along with a local Samba band, theatre performances, circus acts and lots more.

Professional dancers, actors, directors and choreographers themselves, Tiago and Maggi have been involved with the Sheep Festival for many years and enjoys the challenge each year of putting together a packed programme of entertainment for visitors to enjoy watching and taking part in.

Christian Aaron Perry, from Llandovery, is responsible for organising the live bands performing at the event. With deep roots in Llandovery it has been a lifelong dream of Aaron's to contribute to this event which is dedicated to boosting the market town's vibrancy. 

Tiago said, "We hope this year's Llandovery Sheep Festival will be a vibrant, community orientated, event. I've watched the festival blossom over the years, having both performed and experienced its enchantment. Previous years have set a remarkable standard and we're determined to, once again, exceed those expectations. This year's festival will offer a weekend of outstanding performances."      

Llandovery's Market Square and Castle carpark will be a kaleidoscope of colour during the event with almost 100 exhibitors displaying their wares from textiles, arts and crafts as well as locally produced food and drink. The streets of Llandovery will be packed with entertainment and music.

Funding for the performing arts and music programme has been gratefully received from the Arts of Council of Wales, the Welsh Government, National Lottery and Tŷ Cerdd with the twmpath evening funded by the Arts Council of Wales Night Out scheme.

To kick off the festival weekend there will be a night of music and dancing from 7pm on Friday, 13 September, in the Sheep Festival Marquee in Llandovery's main car park. Tân Annwn Twmpath Band will be entertaining the crowds. Tickets are £12 and are available in advance on the Llandovery Sheep Festival website.
