THE elder statesman of Scotland's agricultural industry is hosting an on-farm event focusing on winter management techniques for cattle and sheep next week.

John Cameron and his wife, Margaret, are hoping the day on their farm at Balbuthie, Kilconquhar, Fife, on Thursday, October 6, will help producers improve margins.

The event is being staged with Edinburgh's Moredun Research Institute, the Scottish Agricultural College, Quality Meat Scotland and the Scottish Beef Cattle Association.
