Livestock 2012: Strautmann struts its stuff.
Machinery manufacturer Strautmann had two new pieces of kit on show at this year’s Livestock 2012; a new fodder mixing wagon and a loader wagon.
Presenting its new fodder mixing system, Strautmann has created a large volume yet compact machine available in six different sizes from 7.5 to 12.5m.
The one-auger mixer is up to 30cm lower than that of the conventional vertical fodder mixing wagons and all Verti-Mix-L models are equipped with a special axle which is located behind the mixing container instead of underneath the mixing container.
Capacity size stands at 7.5m3 so can meet the demands of large herd numbers yet being able to manoeuvre small sheds and older buildings.
In the loader wagon series, Strautmann has launched the Mega-Vitesse CFS ceries which contains the same features as the rest of the brands’ loader waggons yet it comes with a price tag suitable for smaller and medium farmers who can’t justify investment on larger, more expensive, models.
The machine has a large diameter rotor with 40 knife cutting unit which theoretically, leaves chop length at 39mm. Another benefit of the machine is the 15% less hp is requires.
The Vertix-Mix-L machines have been available from last month while the Mega-Vitesse CFS has been displayed for the first time today (04 September) at the Livestock Event.
