Limousin bull breaks UK record at auction
A Limousin bull broke UK records on Saturday, by fetching £126,000 at auction. The bull, Dolcorsllwyn Fabio, bred in Powys, Wales by Glyn Vaughan of Machynlleth was sold to Alan Jenkinson of Penrith at market in Carlisle, Cumbria.

Earlier this year, the government announced plans to help UK producers benefit from increased exports to new markets, capitalising on the UK’s reputation for high quality and standards of animal welfare; British genetics have long been prized in the livestock and sheepdog breeding worlds.
A shocked Mr Vaughn, the breeder of Dolcorsllwyn Fabio, told the BBC on Sunday that he was totally unprepared for the “unreal” sum his bull fetched. He said he thought the pedigree limousine would fetch £40,000 at market. The breeder admitted that he would have been content with matching the Welsh record of £33,600, which he set with another of his animals in 2008.
