Leading energy transition partner power 3-day farming event with HVO

Certas Energy, the UK's largest independent fuel distributor, has this week announced it will be powering The Great British Farm Fest using Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) which can cut life-cycle GHG emissions by up to 90% compared to standard diesel.

The energy transition partner is fuelling up to power the event with HVO – with an expected delivery of 20,000 litres.

A celebration of farmers, The Great British Farm Fest is taking place at NAEC Stoneleigh Warwickshire across three fun-filled days, from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th May.
Championing the agricultural community, with headline appearances from beloved farming advocates including Jeremy Clarkson, Lisa Hogan, Kaleb Cooper, Charlie Ireland, Adam Henson and Certas Energy brand ambassador Olly Harrison, the inaugural event is expected to draw crowds of more than 60,000 people over three days.
Festival goers can expect a wide range of music, activities and delicious food on offer, with over 20 DJs and bands taking to the stage including Groove Armada and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, plus eight show rings and The Piddly Diddly, a pop-up of Jeremy Clarkson's famed Diddly Squat Farm Shop.
Certas Energy's commitment to powering the event represents a fantastic opportunity for those within the farming community and beyond to witness the transformative power of HVO first-hand.
HVO can also improve local air quality in comparison to standard diesel, with a reduction in tailpipe emission, reducing nitrogen oxides (NOx), sulfur oxides (SOx), particulate matter (PMs) and carbon monoxide (CO) – which is great news for those attending this year's Great British Farm-Fest, and its neighbouring communities.
While transitioning farming equipment, machinery or vehicles may seem challenging in the current climate, Certas Energy is a trusted energy transition partner providing reliable fuel supply and lower carbon alternatives to fuel the future of British farming.
Designed as a 'drop-in' replacement for standard red or white diesel. This means it can typically be used in existing diesel engines and machinery without the need for costly modifications or significant downtime.
HVO is a transitional fuel – it can help customers to lower emissions from their operations, meet their sustainability goals and take meaningful steps towards their net zero future.
Farming influencer Olly Harrison, who has already begun his HVO transition journey with support from Certas Energy, said: "I'm really looking forward to The Great British Farm-Fest and championing everything that makes farming and agricultural communities so brilliant.

"It's fantastic that such a significant event is being powered by HVO, marking a great opportunity for farmers like me to understand the difference that transitioning from diesel to HVO can make."

Richard Billington, Managing Director of Energy Solutions at Certas Energy, said: "We are delighted to be powering The Great British Farm Fest as it's a meaningful opportunity to demonstrate the power and benefits of HVO as an alternative to standard diesel.
"We are immensely proud that Certas Energy is once again able to lead by example as a responsible and sustainable energy transition partner, and look forward to celebrating the resilience, grit and dedication of our country's brilliant farming community."
