Lancashire County Council has rejected planning permission for two controversial fracking developments at Roseacre Wood and Preston New Road.

Friends of the Earth’s legal advisors claimed that the County Council had received flawed legal advice before Lancashire councillors’ verdict was returned. Legal advisor Jake White said, "The legal advice sits within a framework of national government policy which privileges fracking over clean wind energy technology. This puts huge pressure on councillors to back fracking against their better judgement.”
