JCB’s stranded on cargo ship grounded in Solent

A large consignment of JCB machinery has been stranded on board the cargo ship grounded in the Solent. The machinery, which includes telehandlers, shovels and diggers, was aboard the Hoegh Osaka transported vessel which began the list after leaving the Port of Southampton.

Alongside the 1400 cars on board, 105 JCB’s including the popular farm telehandler the ‘loadall’ which are built in the company’s Staffordshire factories, are left stranded destined for their home in the Middle East where they have all been sold to dealerships.

A JCB spokesman said: "There are 105 JCB machines on board the grounded cargo ship which were destined for dealers in the Middle East. We are awaiting further information from the shipping carrier about the current status of the machines and any plans they may have for retrieval."
