Investment in young agricultural scientists

HGCA has announced plans to invest a further £112,500 in young agricultural scientists through its PhD studentship programme.

Dr Jenna Watts, studentship programme manager, said: “Dozens of students have been supported since the programme was launched in 2002.

“Typically, 70% of students graduating from the programme remain within the agricultural industry. So, in addition to conducting valuable innovative research, HGCA’s investment helps to contribute new talent that can be exploited by UK agricultural businesses.”
