Invest in training to support safe and productive agriculture
Lantra showcased the breadth of training options for safe and productive working in agriculture at the recent leading industry machinery and equipment show, LAMMA 2024, on Wednesday 17 January and Thursday 18 January.
Tractors, ATVs, 4x4s and telehandlers are essential pieces of heavy machinery for many agricultural businesses, therefore operating them safely and efficiently is vital. Lantra training courses are suitable for both new and experienced drivers and operators, providing the knowledge and skills that are needed for effective operation on the farm.
Lantra has experienced instructors who deliver a range of training courses, between 1-5 days in length, to ensure farm machinery is used safely and with confidence.
Lantra’s CEO, Marcus Potter, also joined an expert panel at LAMMA discussing the role of training in changing the culture of farm safety. He said: ‘’Farming can be made safer with training.
Lantra is working closely with the industry to create a strong health and safety culture where there is a high level of awareness of the hazards, risks and precautions that exist in the farm environment.
Our e-learning course, Health and Safety on Farms, helps learners understand the risks of working in agricultural environments and measures to help control those risks. Over 4000 people have completed this training to date, and we are keen that the numbers keep growing’’.
In addition to showcasing training courses, the Lantra careers team were also on the stand at LAMMA to highlight the wide variety of careers in agriculture and provide a preview of an apprenticeship toolkit for employers which is coming soon.
