Increased sales for AMAZONE in 2023

The Amazone Group remained on course with its projected growth, having completed another financial year under challenging market conditions, and having exceeded the sales milestone of 850 million euro in the 2023 financial year . The annual results of this agricultural and groundcare machinery manufacturer thus shows an increase in sales of around 6%, following the 22 % increase in 2022. As a result, total sales for the family-owned company have reached a new record high of 852 million euro in the 2023 financial year (previous year 2022: 804 million euro).

In the first half of 2023, a high order intake level produced a tense situation with our sub-suppliers, which, despite intensive efforts, partially led to bottlenecks and delays in production. The situation generally settled down in the second half of the year.

In addition, the consequences for trade were, and still are, virtually impossible to assess because of geopolitical conflicts which remain highly relevant. From the business aspect, we are watching the developments in the regions affected with great concern.

Notwithstanding the challenging economic environment, Amazone recorded exceptionally high global demand for modern agricultural machinery enabling it to increase production capacity and profitability in 2023. Amazone was able to benefit greatly from this trend with its innovative technology.

The consistent high export level of around 80 %, together with more intensive market evaluation, contributed to the positive development of sales in 2023. It was for this reason that investment in the future continued last year. Production capacities in the facilities in Bramsche and Hude/Altmoorhausen were expanded to secure reliability of supply, and the manufacturing techniques were modernised further to increase product quality.

International interest was clearly felt at the Agritechnica exhibition in November 2023. This leading world’s trade exhibition was great success for us, and for all participants.

The outlook for 2024

We are well aware that we will have to continue to cope with long-term uncertainties in the 2024 financial year. Global economic conditions remain volatile and agricultural businesses are facing further difficulties. At the present time, a reticence to purchase is clearly apparent. We will keep an eye on current events and, as always, we will act with commitment and a sense of proportion, and we will continue to make every necessary investment.

New markets, such as North America and South America, are becoming increasingly important. We recognise the opportunities and potential in these new geographical regions and are determined further to expand our global presence, in order to offer better support for our customers worldwide. The Brazilian specialist for fertiliser spreaders MP AGRO became part of the Amazone Group in April of this year.

In this year, the driving force for sales will be the expanded product range with innovative Amazone machinery, adapted to the soil type and climate in the various different regions of the world. Bearing in mind the increasing extreme weather situations, we are also researching and experimenting on our new agricultural experimental station in Wambergen, right next to our main factory in Hasbergen-Gaste, with new farming systems in order always to offer agriculture the latest technologies and crop establishment concepts for sustainable, high-yield farming.

In addition, the continuous development of our existing product portfolio remains at the heart of the philosophy. Recently the Precea trailed precision air seeder product group was supplemented by the addition of an additional model in a 6 m working width. This version is available optionally with either a central seed conveying system or a decentralised seed hopper on each sowing unit. The range of ploughs also now includes the new product models, Teres and Tyrok. They offer higher efficiency and adaptability, as well as the facility for ploughing onland. Amazone is also pushing developments in the field of autonomy and artificial intelligence. AI-supported solutions have become an important constituent part of our product strategy.

  • The Cirrus Grand trailed cultivator drill in 9 m working width stands for precise, flexible and high output use.
  • The Cobra tine cultivator is the perfect all-rounder for shallow soil cultivation, from cover crop establishment and shallow stubble working through to seedbed preparation.
  • The Centaya Super pneumatic harrow-mounted seed drill is the ideal solution in many areas of farming and offers a high level of operational comfort and maximum precision.
