Highly pathogenic avian influenza in commercial poultry near Gayton, King's Lynn
Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed on 21 August 2022 in commercial poultry at a premises near Gayton, King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Norfolk the Chief Veterinary Officer has confirmed.
A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone has been put in place around the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.
Defra lowered the risk of avian influenza to low for all poultry, and as a result, the mandatory requirements were lifted on August 16th.
