H&H Group Raises £40,000 for Rural Charities
Colleagues across Harrison & Hetherington, H&H Land & Estates, and H&H Insurance Brokers have joined forces in a series of events and initiatives to support RABI, RSABI, and Growing Well, delivering vital funds for farming families and rural communities.
H&H Group is proud to announce that after two years of successful fundraising initiatives, they and their amazing staff have raised nearly £40,000 in support of rural charities RABI, RSABI, and Growing Well.
From organised events to individual efforts, colleagues and clients have come together to generate vital funds for organisations that provide essential financial, practical, and mental health support. The fundraising programme began with a team cycling 100km in Northumberland's Wooler Wheel sportive and continued with participation in the Gelt Gladiator challenges, and a companywide walk along Hadrian's Wall. The fundraising calendar also included a Charity Ball and support linked to the Group's 100th Anniversary Ball.
Alongside these headline events, numerous internal and community-led initiatives contributed to the total raised. These included the Monthly Staff 200 Club Draw, International Women's Day events, Christmas Carol Services, tombolas, the sale of Borderway Agri & Dairy Expo catalogues and calendars, Dress Down Days and Christmas Jumper Days across offices and marts.
Several members of staff, including Richard Rankin, CEO of H&H Group, also used their annual Volunteering Day to help at the Growing Well garden near Kendal, showing the personal commitment of the Group's leadership to these causes.
Richard Rankin, CEO of H&H Group, said, "What makes this achievement particularly special is that it has involved every part of the Group. From Harrison & Hetherington's marts to H&H Land & Estates and H&H Insurance Brokers, colleagues have supported the programme in different ways. The agricultural sector along with many Cumbrian communities face real pressures, and these charities provide essential support when it is needed most. We are proud to have played our part in strengthening that safety net."
Funds raised have been distributed across the three charities to support frontline services, reinforcing the shared aim of building resilience and wellbeing within rural communities.
Pauline Macmillan, Head of Fundraising for RSABI, said, "Thank you to the H&H Group team for their fantastic fundraising efforts and for choosing to support RSABI. This generous donation will play a vital role in helping us deliver our essential support services to people in Scottish agriculture."
Ed Tallis, Head of Business Development at Growing Well added, "Growing Well has really appreciated being one of H&H group's chosen charities over the last 2 years, the money raised has gone directly into providing support for people experiencing and recovering from mental ill-health. Having H&H staff spend a day volunteering with us at Growing Well Kendal was a bonus. It gave us the chance to show Richard and the team the difference that Growing Well makes to people's lives, and they could see for themselves what their fundraising was supporting."
