H&H Announces Promotion

Harrison & Hetherington has promoted Anna McGregor to Assistant Pedigree Manager, recognising her experience, industry knowledge and longstanding contribution to pedigree livestock sales across the UK.

Harrison & Hetherington, the UK's leading livestock auctioneers, has announced the promotion of Anna McGregor to Assistant Pedigree Manager, a key role within both the business and the wider pedigree livestock sector. Handling in excess of 800,000 head of livestock each year, Harrison & Hetherington continues to invest in its people, with Anna's promotion reflecting the strength of its homegrown talent and ongoing commitment to the pedigree sector.

Working closely with many of the UK's major pedigree sheep and cattle societies, the position plays an important part in delivering successful sales and maintaining strong relationships across the industry.

Robin Anderson Managing Director, said, "This promotion will come as no surprise to anyone who has worked with Anna. Over the last decade she has become one of the most respected people in her field. Her commitment, work ethic and determination to deliver to the highest standard have earned her the trust of vendors and breed societies alike.

"Anna has also been instrumental in developing one of the largest online livestock sales portfolios across the UK and Ireland, and this new role gives her the opportunity to build on that success while continuing to strengthen our service offering."

A farmer's daughter from Roweltown near Longtown, Anna joined Harrison & Hetherington in 2011 as a Pedigree Assistant. Since then, she has developed extensive knowledge of the sector and built strong relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

In her new role, Anna will oversee the day to day running of the pedigree department, including the coordination of sales and the continued development of online pedigree auctions. She will also support ongoing improvements across the business through customer engagement and industry networking.

Her responsibilities will include working with breed societies, coordinating catalogues and marketing activity, and supporting the smooth delivery of sales from planning through to post sale reporting.

Anna said, "I love my job, no two days are ever the same. What stays consistent is our focus as a team to maximise the potential of every animal we sell on behalf of our customers. The variety, the people and the relationships we build make it incredibly rewarding. I am looking forward to developing pedigree sales further, both at Borderway and online, and continuing to deliver the highest level of service."

Anna remains closely connected to her farming roots and continues to help on the family's mixed beef and sheep farm, regularly returning home to assist during busy periods such as lambing.
