HGCA's Breakfast Week is back

HGCA’s Breakfast Week will return for its 16th year from 25 until 31 January 2015.

According to recent research 'out of home' breakfasts are growing in popularity accounting for 10.6% of all visits to foodservice outlets. In response to this HGCA launched the Best Breakfast Awards to celebrate the variety of breakfasts available to consumers. Introduced as a new feature for last year’s campaign the awards saw 261 venues put forward their best breakfast dishes for a public vote.

This year Phil Vickery, celebrity chef regularly seen on ITV’s This Morning will be fronting the 2015 consumer campaign and will be helping to judge the award for the nation’s favourite breakfast.

Karen Levy, Breakfast Week Campaign Manager, said: “We were really pleased to see the amount of activity that the Best Breakfast Awards created last year and the awards are a great way to celebrate the UK’s diverse range of breakfasts that consumers regularly enjoy.”

HGCA always encourages growers to get involved with the campaign, which celebrates local produce and promotes educational messages about a healthy and nutritional start to the day.
