Harvest Results - What have Claire, Volume and Ovation in common?
This week nearly 15,000 acres have been submitted by farmers, agronomists and contractors bringing the total area submitted so far to 12,000ha (30,000ac).
Varieties Claire, Volume and Ovation lead their respective cropping tables in terms of individual average variety yield.
Using the Harvest Results survey data, predictions for wheat, barley & oilseed rape are:
Oilseed Rape - 5000ha submitted so far
With a 10% uplift in yields over 2013, this puts the predicted extra tonnage of Oilseed Rape on the market based on an area of circa 715,000ha at 240,000t.
Barley - 3000ha submitted so far
Average Barley yields are doing well too, with an uplift of 15% on 2013. Based on an area of 1,200,000ha, predicted extra barley on the market - 1,380,000t
Wheat - 2000ha submitted so far
Still early days for wheat data, but at present the uplift on 2013 is 16%.
