Harper Adams University Confers Honorary Doctorate on TFA Chief Executive

The Tenant Farmers Association (TFA) has congratulated its Chief Executive, George Dunn, on being awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Laws by Harper Adams University.

 

The presentation of the honorary degree on George is in recognition of his significant contribution to supporting tenant farmers and his charity work within the wider industry including with the Farming Community Network and the Authur Rank Centre.

TFA National Chair, Robert Martin, said “On behalf of everyone at the TFA, we wish to send George our congratulations on being conferred an honorary Doctorate by Harper Adams University. It is a testament to his unwavering dedication and impactful contributions as our Chief Executive. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and the positive change he continues to inspire”.

George Dunn said “It is an unbelievably generous accolade to have been awarded this honorary doctorate by Harper Adams University. I am so very grateful to the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Ken Sloan and to the wider Harper Adams University community for deeming it appropriate that I should be awarded an honorary doctorate which I was surprised, humbled and delighted to receive. In accepting the honorary degree, I am pleased that it shines a bright light on the work of the Tenant Farmers Association and all those within the staff team and wider membership who work so hard to support those within our sector. I thank each one for the work that they do and thank my family for the unstinting support it has given me so unselfishly over my nearly 30 years in post”.

The Honorary Doctorate of Laws was conferred upon George at a degree ceremony held at Harper Adams University on Friday, 20 September 2024.
